Titmouse

The titmouses are Passereau X of the family of the Paridé S. They are small active birds, with the short nozzle, of rather squat form. They are arboricolous, insectivorous and granivores. The male and the female are similar; the young people resemble to the adults.

They nest in holes of trees, but often use the nesting boxes in the gardens. They are very sociable and attend readily the mangers in winter.

In the past, the majority of the species belonged to the kind Parus . They currently appear within this kind and of four others: Cyanistes , Lophophanes , Periparus and Poecile .

The titmouses, which raffolent seeds of GUI, interfere with the mechanism of propagation and limit it, because they entirely digest them, contrary to the Grive S ( Turdus viscivorus ), which reject them into their droppings, and of this fact are the principal persons in charge of the propagation of this parasitic plant of the trees.

The Long-tailed tit ( Aegithalos caudatus ) belongs to a family close to the Paridé S that of Aegithalidés.

The Breadcrumbs or titmouse with moustache ( Panurus biarmicus ) is a bird whose aspect points out that of the titmouses, but it belongs to the family of the Paradoxornithidés.
