Titeuf

Titeuf is a hero of Cartoon created by the draftsman Genevese Philippe Chappuis, alias Zep. It is a young boy by whom, in the series éponyme, Zep the vision shows us that the children of the attitudes and the institutions of the adults have.

The character

Titeuf was born in March 1992 on a notebook with drawing where Zep draws some memories of childhood. One of its characters is a light-haired boy with an egg head and a houppette because he with the flemme to draw hair. Finding that the head of its character resembles an egg, it decides to call it Titeuf ( small egg > tit' euf > Titeuf ).

At the beginning, it keeps its creation for him before realizing potential of the character, well better than his other productions of the time. After many refusal, Zep had indeed decided to give up the cartoon and to be satisfied to lay down its memories on paper. On the councils of its entourage, the first boards of Titeuf are published in a Fanzine ( Sauve which can ) with small specimens when a producer, Jean-Claude Camano, today the agent of Zep, throws an eye by chance and reference mark the fair wick. A few months later, the first album is born and is drawn with 8000 specimens. But the success of Titeuf explodes very quickly.

In October 2006, the 11th volume was drawn to 1,8 million specimens, which makes of it the largest exit in bookstore of the year, all confused kinds. At the end of 2006, including the 11th album, the adventures of Titeuf made sell 16 million albums.

Scenario

The series tells the daily life of Titeuf, a child with the characteristic fair wick, of his/her friends, and their vision of the world of the adults. The age of Titeuf is unknown but it seems located at the beginning of pre-adolescence, most of the discussions approached relate to the mysteries of the girls, the sex, the seduction, and Nadia, the girl with which Titeuf is more or less secretly in love. Another characteristic of Titeuf are these many expressions (“Tchô”, “It is Po right”, “Releases to me the slipway”, “Poor zizi sexual”…)

Characters

Titeuf , the principal hero of these adventures. It is a turbulent, recognizable boy with his long fair wick, which is posed many questions about the life, with its famous expression “ tchô ” (inspired of the “ tschaw ” of Edika).

Its family

the parents of Titeuf , are ground vis-a-vis turpitudes of their son. The father often finds himself with the Chômage during the adventures, which makes it possible to tackle the subject through the eyes of Titeuf.

Zizie , which appears for the first time in the seventh album, is the little sister of Titeuf. Its arrival involves many upheavals in the life of Titeuf which must sometimes be occupied and prevent of it that it does not ransack its business. Titeuf is comforted by thinking that it could be used to him to meet girls.

Monique , is the sister of the mother of Titeuf. This last takes a malicious pleasure to call it “Touched”, although she does not like too this.

Julie is the red-headed cousin of Titeuf, a little real tomboy.

His/her friends

François , is the typical representative of the intellectual myope of service.

Hugo , the small large one out of red sports shirt and white pants, is very malignant and always leaves good valves. He adores to eat chocolate bars and is obnubilated by the girls. It is the caïd class.

Manu , with its large glasses, is the best friend of Titeuf: it is timid and can especially leave much silly things on the love.

“Morvax” of its true name Thomas , is the nickname of one of the comrades of Titeuf which is constantly caught cold.

Jean-Claude cannot speak any more without spitting nor zozoter since his/her parents made him put a dental apparatus.

“Puduk” , of its true name Pierre-Alexandre , is thus called by his/her comrades because of his nauseous odor.

Ramon , is a son of Portuguese immigrant who has many difficulties of expression in French.
“Vomito” , of its true name Herve , vomits for one yes or not: in the bus, when he sees blood, when he eats too much… Everyone makes fun of him.

the girls

Nadia is the more or less secret love of Titeuf. Very shopgirl, it is with miles of the tastes of Titeuf and her friends and their contests of fart. In general, she thus considers Titeuf as old-fashioned even if it sometimes happens to him to mark some points. Its presence makes it possible to approach the differences between the boys the girls.

“Dumbo” , of its true name Valerie , is a girl subject with many mockeries because of its separated ears.

the teaching team

the mistress (Mrs Biglon) , is the pet peeve of the children of the class. They regard it as their worst nightmare. Nevertheless she pains with Titeuf, which shows some to him of all the colors.

“Mr Pourri” , professor of manual work; the pupils called it thus because its breath feels “as if he had eaten the compost”.

“the caretaker” , a severe man for whom Titeuf and his friends often reserve misfortunes.

Its enemies

large Diego , is a boy older than Titeuf and its comrades who takes pleasure to strike them.

Marco , is the frimor of service. It always comes to roll its case near the “dwarves” like it says itself. It is the large rival of Titeuf at Nadia.

“Ray Charles” , called thus by Titeuf and its buddies because of its glasses, is a short-sighted racketeer.

At the time of the 2nd Festival data base was inaugurated, the September 12th 2003, a place “Titeuf”, with Bouverie, on the commune of Roquebrune on Argens, was bordered of the elementary school and the nursery school of the district.
