Tinchebray

Tinchebray is a common French, located in the department of the Orne and the area Basse-Normandie.

Its inhabitants are called Tinchebrayens, Tinchebrayennes.

On the site http://perso.orange.fr/emmanuel.hamel/, Emmanuel Hamel reconstituted the population of the parishes Notre-Dame and Saint-Pierre de Tinchebray of 17th and 18th centuries, by in particular integrating there the 2600 marriages of before 1792.

  • Ancienne royal Prison, Tribunal, market, 16th. Currently Museum of Tinchebray. In the vestiges of the prisons still the original doors of the dungeons are where one can see, engraved, the inscriptions of the prisoners.

Industries

The city gathers several specialized companies in the Ferronnerie and the Quincaillerie. Presence of a Chocolate ery Cémoi, located in the old abbey.
