Timmins , is a city in the North-East of the Ontario, with the Canada. Its population was of 43.686 inhabitants at the time of the census of 2001.

The area develops starting from 1900, with the beginning of mining exploration. One speaks then about South Porcupine. A large forest fire devastates the area in 1911. Mining exploration is started again by Noah Timmins which is established in the area and gives its name to future the city, made up in 1912. Forest industry will come to diversify the economy thereafter. The city counts a big number of Free-Ontarians (more than 16.500).

The fire of Porcupine

The Feu in Porcupine was one of worst which devastated Ontario forever. Following one spring very hot and dry, several fires started, which together created finally an enormous fire on July 11th, 1911. At least 70 people died in fire.
