Timidria
Timidria is a ONG for the human rights native of Niger. She was founded by Ilguilas Weila in 1991 and fights against the Esclavage in Niger.
The name Timidria means “solidarity” or “fraternity” in Touareg. Slavery is abolished in Niger and the government of Niger says that it does not exist, but the organizations international as Anti-Slavery International estimate that there are at least 40.000 slaves in the country.
Timidria has 300.000 members. The central seat is in the capital Niamey, and the organization has offices in all the country. Timidria tries to help the fugitive slaves and to implement the abolition of slavery.
In 2004, Timidria and Ilguilas Weila received the Anti-Slavery Award the Anti-Slavery International one.
