The Timiş ( Tamiš into Serb) is a 359 kilometers length river, having a basin of 13.085 km ². It has its source in Romania with the Monts Semenic, sprinkles the towns of Caransebeş and from Lugoj, passes to a score of kilometers to the south of Timişoara, passes in Serbia and joined the the Danube to Pančevo. The last 53 kilometers of the river are navigable.
