The time of ignition , in the field of the Astronautics, is the time which passes between the appearance of Ergol S in the Combustion chamber and their ignition.

This time is given in practice by a photometric measurement.

It is advisable not to confuse Délai of lighting and time of ignition.

The term corresponding in English is ignition delay .
