Time Sharing Option
See also: TSO
Time Sharing Option (TSO) is an interpreter of lines of order interacting with MVS, used for the operating systems OS/390 and today Z/OS on the great systems IBM. TSO is employed by the whole of the users of the machine, of the system administrators to the developers.
Nommé thus since its appearance in the Sixties, he was then regarded as an optional subsystem of MVS, but became about it since OS/360 a component necessary. It gradually evolved to the current version TSO/E, Time Sharing Option Extensions.
Deux process control languages are available under TSO/E:
-
CLIST, for Command LIST,
- Rexx, for Restructured Extended Executor.
