Time (song)

Time is a song of the group Pink Floyd. It off appears on their album Dark Side the Moon , left in 1973. The song was written by Roger Waters and was composed by all the members of the group, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason and Waters (it is the only song of the album to being credited to all the four).
The song opens on the sound of many clocks ringing, each one recorded separately by Alan Parsons, followed by a solo of percussions played by Nick Mason. David Gilmour sings then two verses with Richard Wright, before interpreting a solo of guitar. The song counts two more verses, then is completed on a resumption of Breathe , which concludes the song to introduce The Great Gig in the Sky .
The words of the song evoke inexorable time: they address to an anonymous you , which, being young, believes to have eternity in front of him (You are long Young and life is and there is time to kill today) and achieves only futile things, even absolutely anything (has dull day , waste the hours) , before realizing that the time caught up with it and which it is from now on too late (And then one day you find ten years cuts got behind you) . One can thus qualify it Memento mori .
