Musical career

Beginnings

Tim is devoted completely to the music consequently: it accompanies its Zack pal in their very first transitory group answering in the name of Inside Out which splitte very quickly without never to have exceeded the local level.

Rage Against the Machine

Later, its Zack pal, bass player lack within his new group: Rage Against The Machine (with Rocha with the song, the highly skilled guitarist Tom Morello, Brad Wilk with the battery), points out it in order to require of him to supplement the line-up what Tim accepts with joy!

Large admiror of Jazz, but with a philosophy much less virulent than that of the Song eur/Rap fear and guitarist, the Musique pushes it more than the rebellious message of the American formation.

Audioslave

With the separation of the RATM, Tim is found with its assistants (Morello and Wilk) in the group Audioslave, with Chris Cornell, ex-singer of Soundgarden.
In 2002, they leave their first album, follow-up of Out off Exiles in 2005, where the presence of Commerford is increasingly audible, and finally Revelations in 2006.

Technique

At the same time large admiror of Jazz (Commerford plays on a Fender Jazz Low) and fan of hip hop (great influence of Cypress Hill and NWA which one will find in the choices of resumptions of the album Renegades ), Tim Commerford is famous for its groove, the power and the quality of its effects (in Calm Like has Bomb for example). It uses primarily the Jim Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah x2 as pedal but also a Marshall Gov' ner as well as a BOSS DD-3 (the same pedal of which Flea is useful, the bass player of RHCP) and a EBS Envelope IQ. Its play is very varied, it combines speed, power and technique (the slap on Take the power back ) which made Rage against the machine one of the rhythm sections most famous among the groups of neo-metal/fusion of the Nineties.
