Tillet

Tillet (in Walloon Tiyet ) is a section of the common Belgian of Holy-Ode located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

History

Roman substructions and vestiges were found in Tillet, Houmont, Hubermont, Magerotte, Pinsamont, Rechrival and Renuamont; all these villages are close to the old ways which led of Bavay in Trier and Rheims to Cologne.

Tax department mérovingien, Tillet was yielded into 640, with the church Saint-Pierre de Cambrai by King Dagobert.

The seigniories of Tillet (partner with Amberloup and Holy-Ode), of Magery and Laval are to be quoted. The lord-abbot of Saint-Hubert is lord of the subsoil of Houmont: the “Saint-Hubert Court” belongs to him. The seigniory of Laval after having belonged to lords éponymes in XIIIe S, sees following one another of Welchenhausen, of O (U) rley who have it longer, of Lardenois de Ville, of Bollant lords of Poker and large ground rassembleurs in XVIe S., of Soré then of Cobreville for a short amount of time, of Barbançon, Villemont and of Breydscheydt then of Schwartzenbergh to XVIIIe S.; after of Gallo de Salamanca there Lima, the baronnie of Laval échut by marriage with the count d' Arberg.

In 1823, the composition of the commune is the following one: Tillet with its hamlets, as well as the agencies or town halls of Houmont and Rechrival, is a total of fifteen villages and hamlets. By royal decree of August 28th, 1828, the mill of Tompré leaves Moircy to join Tillet. This situation is stabilized until 1977, on a territory of 4.372 ha.

In 1823, Tillet amalgamated with Houmont and Rechrival.

August 28th, 1828, it absorbed the hamlet of Tompré, taken with Moircy.
