Tikkoun Hatzot
The Tikkoun 'Hatzot (reads. " office of minuit") of lamentation is a Jewish ritual recited at each midnight in remembering the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem. It is about a nonobligatory observance and non-universellement followed. She is recited only in the orthodoxe Judaïsme.
Origin of the habit
The Sages of Talmud wrote that each Juif should cry the Destruction of the Temple. This habit took force of Halakha (law) so much it was widespread. The first to put it into practice were the Juifs Eastern, which added Kinnot (elegies) at the time of the offices of Sabbath during the three weeks between the 17 Tammouz and Tisha BeAv, but not during the days of week. This use was disapproved, because it made specifically of Sabbath one day of mourning, whereas it is precisely the day when mourning is prohibited. Isaac Luria thus abolishes this minhag, but he declared that Tikkoun Hatzot should be known as each day.
Office
The office of Tikkoun Hatzot can be carried out individually, without Minyan. At midnight, orant it asseoit on the ground, removes its shoes, and reads the Psaume 102 (the “Prayer of Afflicted”), after which it carries out a '' Viddouï '' (confession) including the prayer “Ashamnou” (“we sinned”). It bed follows Psalm 132, and Psalm 79 of Assaph. The kinnot are then recited; they vary according to the communities, each one having known its own misfortunes. The office is concluded by the reading from Isaïe 52:2 (“Shakes your dust, Jerusalem etc”)
In the Cabal
According to the lesson of the Cabal, Tikkoun 'Hatzot is important for the bringing together of the Gueoula (Redemption). Moreover, according to a teaching of Rabbi Shimon bar Yohaï consigned in Talmud, when the Jewish people from went away in exile, the Shekhina (divine presence) followed them.
