The Tigers of Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León more known under the name of Tigers UANL , is a club of Football located in the area of Nuevo León founded in 1960. The club is the property of CEMEX, one of the major companies of the country like one of most important the world cement-manufacturers. Each year, the inhabitants of Monterrey are entitled to the famous Clásico Regiomontano which opposes the Tigres to the Rayados, the two rival clubs of the city.
Many meetings of the Tigres are also regarded as Clásicos , in addition to that vis-a-vis the Rayados. The matches vis-a-vis Cruz Azul and Pachuca are named Clásico de Cementeros , the two clubs being had by competitors of CEMEX. The meeting the opponent with the Pumas is the Clásico Universitario , the Tigers being attached to the Université of Nuevo Leon and the Pumas UNAM with the National university of Mexico City . Finally the meeting vis-a-vis Santos Laguna represents the competition between the two great states of the north of Mexico, the Nuevo León, rather prosperous, vis-a-vis the Coahuila, state whose many candidates with the emigration are orginaires towards the USA.
