The ticks are Acari ens Ectoparasite S. They pass part of their cycle on the Peau of Mammifère S, Oiseau X or Reptile S, being nourished of their Sang thanks to a Rostre.

Description


They are the largest representatives about the Acarien S. Some can reach 3 cm length.

The ticks have a thick skin and four pairs of legs griffues.

The oral parts form a body of anchoring, the Rostre (or capitulum), which is planted in the skin of the host and by which blood is aspired.

During their life cycle, which comprises several larval stages, the ticks change several times of host.

The ticks are classified in three families characterized by Génome S, morphology S and lifestyle different:
