The ticarcilline is a penicillin employed in combination with the clavulanic Acide. It has the same spectrum as a very similar combination, the clavulanic Amoxicilline with acid, with the difference which it is weak against the Entérocoques but effective against the Stenotrophomonas, a frightening multi-resistant bacterium against which very few treatments are available.
The clavulanic combination ticarcilline/acid is only managed by intravenous way.
