Tiécoro Bagayoko

Tiécoro Bagayoko was a soldier Malian, born on July 19th 1937 with Goundam (current Mali) and died in 1983.

Tiécoro Bagayoko, native of Goudam (area of Tombouctou) is the child of Foamed Bagayoko and of Sadji Kossa Subdued. It is Bambara. It passes its childhood to Goundam, then to Kayes and follows his father to Bamako in the years 1950. It enters to the school of the children reared by the army of Kati. In 1958 it takes part in the Guerre of Algeria on the side of the French where he is medal-holder of the Cross of Rescue of the French Army. On its return, it obtains a purse for the flying school in the USSR, then with the the United States in 1965. November 19th 1968, it very actively takes share with the coup d'etat which reverses President Modibo Keïta, in company of fourteen other soldiers of which Moussa Traoré. It takes part in the Military committee of national release (CMLN). Director of the national security, it sets up an political police. Parallel to its politico-police activities, it is interested in football (in particular President of the club Djoliba Athletic) and does not hesitate to threaten the players of the concurrent teams of Djoliba (Stage Malian and Real of Bamako). Its interventionism on the side of the arbitration body is worth in Mali to be excluded from international competitions during one year.

It is stopped, in company of Kissima Doukara and Karim Dembélé by Moussa Traoré whereas it is in his office for a meeting on February 28th, 1978. It is retrogressed with the row of soldier of second class. Off-set in Taoudenit, it dies there.

Tiécoro Bagayoko married in 1962 Aïssata Kélétigui Doumbia (Assétou Kourouma on papers) with which it will have two children: Foamed Tiécoro Bagayoko and Mama Tiécoro Bagayoko. In 1970, he marries Tenimba Diallo with which he will have 4 children Mata Sadji Bagayoko, Fatouma Bagayoko, Aïssata Bagayoko and Mohamed Bagayoko. In 1976, he marries Néné Bayaba Sy and will have a girl Assetou Bagayoko.
