Thunderdome is in the beginning enormous a Rave party centered Techno hardcore/Gabber organized by ID&T and which was held the October 3rd 1992 in Thialf-Stadium de Heerenveen with the Netherlands. Its enormous success generated many other Thunderdome turnips which followed one another insane pace (not less than 6 for the only year 1993) then rate decreased gradually and are from now on a single annual event. It gathered to 40.000 people, currently the figure stagnates around 20 to 30.000. The word indicates also the whole of the DJ which take part in it (inter alia DJ Delirium and members of the Dreamteam).

Nevertheless, one knows more Thunderdome for his compilations (25 on the whole, without counting about fifteen Best off ), generally biannual, and which will strongly contribute to the blossoming of the scene Gabber. Without Thunderdome, artists like The Masochist, DJ Promo, 3 Steps Ahead, DJ Dione, E-rick & TAC-tic would perhaps not have been such a great success. In spite of success, the relations between the artists signed at ID&T and the direction of the label tend to worsen: the artists wanted to leave side the Gabber for the Real Hardcore , a tendency which arises in Thunderdome XXIV, but which was not crowned success. Wearied, some leave off ID&T for Masters Hardcore or create their own label (Buzz fuzz, Dj Promo). Compilations stop fine 1999.

Many believed whereas Thunderdome did not exist any more and even their official Internet site was not up to date any more. Much of impassioned then required so that the event which proceeded annually not be him also not finished, which was accepted.
