Thun-Saint-Amand is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Geography

History

The first mention of this village goes back to 1159. It is called then Tuns , of the Germanic word tun which means firm .

Thun formed formerly part of the Hainaut and of the Diocèse of Tournai and becomes, following the decree of January 27th 1962, Thun-Saint-Amand.
