Thuir
Thuir (in Catalan Tuïr ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Eastern Pyrenees and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Thuirinois.

Thuir is located in the plain of the Roussillon, to 13 km in the South-east of Perpignan. It sits at the doors of Aspres, an area which constitutes Piedmont of the Canigou between the furrows of the rivers of the Têt and of the Tech. The city is localized to 23 km of the sea the Mediterranean and to 35 km of the peak of Canigou (2784 m).
- Thuir is accessible by D612a starting from Perpignan (by highway: A9 - exit n°42; by plane: airport of Perpignan-Rivesaltes; by rail: park of Perpignan). It should be noted that the city was served by the railroad known as of interest local. This railway, long of about fifteen kilometers, had been inaugurated in 1911 to be finally unused and had been dismantled in the years 1990. Its layout is used today by a cycle track.
