Thugs

Mythical group, carried out by the Sourice brothers, Thugs were during more than one ten year one of the most important groups Punk-rock'n'roll French, being able even to export itself via the label Sub Pop.

Biography

The history of Thugs begins with Angers with 2 brothers: Eric and Christophe Sourice who begin their career in some small groups of punk: IVG, Dazibao and Stress.

The group is really formed in 1983 with the arrival of Thierry Méanard and Gerald Chabaud. The first recording of the group goes back to 1984 at the label Gougnaf Mouvement: Frenetic Dance hall

Origin of the name of the group: Thugs

The group draws its patronym from a cartoon of Mickey or Riri, Fifi and Loulou says: " one will see Thugs". It is about a sect of Indian throttle valve admirer of the goddess Kali; the Thug.
