Throwing the discus
The throwing the discus is a discipline of the Athlétisme, which consists in further launching a disc possible. The disc has a form Circulaire of a Diamètre of 22 centimetres, a weight of 2 kilograms for the men and of 1 kg for the women (with a smaller diameter).
History
The throw of disc was already practiced in the Antiquité. The launchers were named the discoboles.
Modern technology
For the throw, the athletes place themselves in a circular zone 2,5 meters in diameter which they should not leave before the disc touched the ground. They start to balance the arms and carry out then a rotation of a turn and half which one calls a volte and finally launches the disc with an angle between the trajectory and the ground ranging between 40° and 60°. The distance between the point of launching (which is the medium of the zone) and the point where the disc landed is measured. Each launcher is entitled to six throws. It should be held the disc so that in fact the Phalangette S hold it at the time of the six dashes not the phalange S. the position of the feet of a droitier is different from that of a left-handed person. For a droitier, the disc must be held with the right hand and the left foot is ahead while a left-handed holds the disc of the left hand and the right foot is ahead. The throw with dash is done in rotation. The disc leaves the hand in the direction of the needles of a watch for a droitier, by making it roll around the index without the feet exceeding the line (because their throw will not be even measured (the judge says test) it is counted like null). The jet is also null for the athletes active to seek the disc before the judges allow it and also those which leave by before circular surface. The launcher must be stable before leaving by the back the circle! The launchers also undergo a cancellation of their jet when their disc leaves the surface of launching.
