Threskiornithidae

The family of the threskionithidés (or Threskionithidae ) includes/understands the 32 species of Ibis and spatula S, terrestrial wader S of intermediate size to large (from 46 to 110 cm), with rather long legs and neck. The ibis have the long, thin and bent nozzle, whereas it broad and is flattened at the spatulas.
Cosmopolitans except for the Antarctic, they have greatest diversity in tropical area. They live in a variety of wetlands, but some species attend the forests, meadows or areas arid or semi-arid.
Threskionithidés are divided into 2 subfamilies: threskiornithinés (26 species of ibis) and them plataleinés (6 species of spatulas).
