Threshold of alarm

In the field of the Air pollution, the threshold of alarm indicates according to the official definition the “level this concentration of polluting substances in the atmosphere, fixed on the basis of scientific knowledge, with beyond which an exposure of short duration presents a risk for the human health or of environmental pollution, from which emergency measures must be taken”.

In a Order of the prefect relative to the “procedure of information, recommendation and alarm”, in the event of atmospheric pollution, the threshold of alarm is described as second level of pollution.
