Three Seasons

Three seasons (original title: Three let us seasons ) is an American film of Tony Bui of 1999.

It is the first American film made to Vietnam since the end of the Guerre of Vietnam, and the first with being played in Vietnamese by Vietnamese actors.

With the Festival of Sundance 1999, the film gained the Grand Prix, the Price of the Public and the Price of the best photograph.

Synopsis

To Vietnam, between ancestral tradition and Western modernity, the ways of five characters will cross in the populeuse town of Saigon.

The young person Kien An is committed to gather white lotuses for Maître CAD, in his temple in the middle of a sea of lotus. Leprosy devastated the features of this former poet who withdraws world. Its inspiration reappears by intending Kien An to sing.

Hai, calms conducting rickshaw, fall in love with Lan, a young person and proud prostitute who attends the new crested hotels. It takes part in a race of rickshaw in the hope to gain the sum which would enable him to spend one night with her.

A young boy, Woody, wander in the streets under the rain, being introduced into the hotels and the bars to sell to with it babioles transported in a bag attached to his neck. In one of these places, it meets the old G.I. 'S James Hager which seeks the girl that it left during the war.

These courses intermingle to depict a country agitated by the wind of the change. The characters do not rendontrent themselves, except Hai. Three seasons punctuate their destiny
