Three-decker

Trois-Ponts (in Walloon Troes-Bridges ) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the south of the Province of Liege.

January 1st, 2004, it counted a population of 2.445 people (1 195 men and 1.227 women). Its surface is of 68,90 square kilometres, for a density of 35,15 inhabitants per km ².

The commune is located at the confluence of the Salm and the Amblève. Downwards, is the village of Coo and its famous cascades and the lower basins of the hydroelectric station. The cascade itself, as well as the village, are on the territory of Stavelot, but the upstream reservoirs of the power station belong to the territory of Three-decker.

The city owes its name with the fact that one finds there three bridges which span three different rivers: the first on Amblève, the second on Salm, and the third on the brook of Baleur.

The commune also shelters a Pouhon, in Henry Moulin, small village between Trois-Ponts and Low-Bodeux.
