Three-basins

Three-Basins is a common French, located in the department and the area of the Meeting.

Its inhabitants is called Trois-Bassinois.

Its currency is: “ Force, dynamism, youth ”.

Geography

The communal territory culminates with the Grand Bénare, with 2.898 meters of altitude. It is bordering on those of Cilaos in the west, Saint-Paul in north and Saint-Leu in the south. It is the example even of a commune made up “Of the leaf of the blades at the top of the mountains”.

History

The common one was created the February 27th 1897.

Demography

Three-basins is a multipolarized Commune. It is only island with Arm-Panon and Small-Island.

Infrastructures

One finds on the communal territory a public college, the college of the Three-Basins, which counted 554 pupils with the re-entry 2005. One in addition finds there a public of mainstream education, technological and professional college, the college of Three-Basins. It counted as for him 725 pupils with the re-entry 2005. The commune shelters a spot of surfing, famous for its marine tortoise. Famous characters

In exile with the Meeting as from 1926, the Moroccan Raïs Abdelkrim El Khattabi lived with Three-Basins during twelve to fifteen years until May 1947, date of its departure towards the south of the France. After being installed with Saint-Denis, it indeed bought grounds in the commune to place there about fifty members of its family constituting her entourage.

Others

Three-basins is a very calm city which resembles any village of the south of the Europe and it makes good live there. The commune has a Gîte of high mountain which can be enorgueillir to have been beautiful.
