The Thrashers of Atlanta are a professional frankness from Hockey of North America. Thrashers evolve/move with Atlanta and play in the South-eastern division of the conference of the East of the National league of hockey since 1999. Since 1999, Thrashers played only once the first places of the LNH and that was at the time of the season 2006-07, single regular season of the frankness with eliminatory Séries from the Coupe Stanley with the end.

The authorization to have a frankness for the LNH in Atlanta east given the June 25th 1997 and it team is envisaged to be the 28e frankness league. It is however not the first time that the city accommodates a team of the league: the Flames of Atlanta remained there until in 1980 before being sold and moved with Calgary.

That will not prevent Thrashers from proudly announcing that they would be the hosts of the match of the stars of the LNH in February 2005. And when the team and the supporters think of having found the pearl in the person of Pasi Nurminen, this one is seen forced to withdraw competition for causes of wounds. Kari Lehtonen, the first choice of the club in 2002 is also inconvenienced by the wounds since the beginning of its career.

The season 2007-08 already well badly started, Thrashers having lost their the first six matches of the season, the DG Waddell congédie the Hartley trainer and takes for the second time places behind the bench of the club.
