Thoraya Ahmed Obaid

Thoraya Ahmed Obaid , a Saoudi diplomat , is the Executive director Fonds of the United Nations for the population (FNUAP) with the UNO and also member of the Cabinet of the General secretary of the United Nations. It is the first Saoudi to be a chief of a body of UNO.

In 1963, it was the first Saoudi woman to receive a purse of the government of Saudi Arabia to study at a university with the the United States of America.

Holder of a Diploma (1966) of the English Literature and Sociology of the College Millets with Oakland in California, a Control (1968) of the English literature and Ethnology of the University Wayne State with Strait with the Michigan and a PhD (1974) of the same matter at the same university.

Between 1975 and 1998, she worked with the Economic commission and social for the Occidental Asia (CESAO). Between 1998 and 2000, it was Directrice of the Division of the Arab Pays and the Europe with (FNUAP). Since 2001, it is Executive director of the FNUAP.
