Thongwa Dönden
The 6th Karmapa, Thongwa Dönden (1416 - 1453)
Thongwa Dönden was born in Ngomto Shakyam close to Karma Gön in the East to the Tibet. Whereas it had only one month, his/her mother took it along for a round of alms during which they met Ngompa Chadral, a disciple of the preceding Karmapa. The child smiles to Ngompa Chadral which required of him which it was. The child rose and says: " I am Karmapa". Ngompa Chadral took it along to Karma Gön, one of the three principal monasteries of the Karmapa to the Tibet, where Thongwa Dönden gave many lesson. It met Ratnabhadra at age the 3 years and it accepted supplements it transmission Kagyupa. At the 6 years age, it composed of many ritual tantric. During this time, the 3rd Shamar Rinpoché, Chöpal Yeshe, came to Karma Gön. He established Karmapa and gave him the lesson of the tradition Kagyupa. Thongwa Dönden accepted ordination at the 9 years age with Khenchen Sönam Zangpo with the monastery of Wolkar Tashi Tang.
The life of the 6th Karmapa was mainly dedicated to its writings and its voyages from Tibet there to found and restore monasteries, to make print crowned books.
Among its best disciples were Bengar Jampal Zangpo and the first Gyaltsab Rinpoché, Goshir Paljor Döndrub. Bengar Jampal Zangpo is the type-setter of famous the " Short prayer in Vajradhara" , which is often used in the centers Kagyupa nowadays.
Realizing that he would die young person, the 6th Karmapa undertook a retirement. It conferred on Gyaltsab Rinpoché the statute of regent, and giving him instructions on the place where it would take again birth.
