Thomson MO5

MO5 is a Micro-ordinateur created by the company Thomson and left in 1984. It is only vaguely compatible with TO7, the programs on cassette, for example, not being recorded at the same speed. Blow, many plays will leave with two faces différentes : a face dedicated to TO7 and TO7/70, another dedicated to the MO5.

It is equipped with a processor 8 bits Motorola 6809 E given rhythm to 1 MHz. Its ROMANIAN is of 16 KB and it is equipped with 48 KB RAM, including 32 free KB for the user. Its capacities of posting are of 320x200 pixels 16 colors (with constraints of proximity) for the graphic mode and 40 lines by 25 columns for the text mode.

The MO5 began its career with a keyboard gums like to7-70 and finished it with a motorized keyboard.

Whereas its distribution remained confidential apart from the hexagon, in France, the MO5, like his/her big brother the TO7, took part in a national plan of data-processing equipment of schools and teaching to the beginning of the year 1980 in France : the Plane data processing for all. That undoubtedly guaranteed an important volume of production with its manufacturer, and a great visibility which enabled him to mark the memories of much. But the difficulties of what was a manufacture of a series unusually important for the time also sometimes left him the not very enviable reputation of a not very reliable machine.

During years and being given the sales bordering the half-million units, Thomson Micro reconsidered its mother chart.

It was in particular used within the framework of the Nanoréseau.
