Thomas of Lancaster, 2nd count de Leicester

Thomas of Lancaster (about 1280 - March 22nd 1322), 2nd Count de Leicester and of Lancaster. It was one of the leaders of the opposition of the barons against the king Edouard II of England.

He was the oldest son of Edmond of Lancaster, 1st Count de Leicester and of Lancaster, and Blanche of Artois.

The October 28th 1294, it married Alice de Lacy which it divorced in 1318, his wife having made adultery.

On the order of Edouard II of England, he was decapitated the March 22nd 1322 for the crime of treason. With his death, his/her brother Henry of Lancaster took the title of duke of Lancaster.
