Thomas Zan

pl: Tomasz Zan (December 21st, 1796 in Miasota in Minsk, in historical area of the Union of Poland-Lithuania, currently Bielorussia, † July 19th, 1855) was a Polish poet.

Biography

Thomas Zan is resulting from a noble, but poor family of the Union of Poland-Lithuania. He makes studies with the Université of Vilnius. He was the chief and the heart of associations coeds. He created " the company of the radiant brothers " whose 7 classes represented the 7 rays of the light. Two other secret associations but, those of Philarètes of which was member Adam Mickiewicz and those of Philomates.

For its activity in these organizations it was exiled by the Russian authorities (of 1824 to 1837).
