Thomas Spencer Cobbold
Thomas Spencer Cobbold is a Médecin and a British parasitologist , born the May 28th 1828 with Ipswich and dead the March 20th 1886 with London.
He is the son of the reverend Richard Cobbold. In 1844, it enters in training near a surgeon of Norwich and in 1847 begins its studies of Médecine to Edinburgh. He becomes doctor in 1851. After a passage to Paris, it is preserving museum of Anatomie of the university of Edinburgh of 1851 with 1856. He marries in 1852 Miss Amyss of Suffolk.
In 1856, it comes to London given courses from Botanique, Zoologie and Comparative anatomy initially with the hospital St Mary then in 1861 in Middlesex Hospital Medical School.
It makes appear in 1864, the first English handbook on the parasitic diseases, Entozoa: year introduction to the studies off helminthology, more particularly to the internal parasitic off man , which will be followed, five years later, of a supplement. Cobbold becomes the June 2nd 1864, member of the Royal Society. In 1868, he becomes professor of Géologie to the British Museum and professor of botany and Helminthologie at the royal school of veterinary art in 1872.
