Thomas Muster (Austrian, born the October 2nd 1967 with Leibnitz) was player of Tennis of 1985 with 1999. Large player of beaten Ground, it gained Roland Garros in 1995 and was n° 1 world in 1996.
Thomas Muster obtains his first results in 1989, when it reaches the final ½ Open of Australia. He qualifies himself then for the finale of the tournament of Key Biscayne but is mown by a vehicle before this final. Seriously wounded in the knee, one believes it finished for tennis.
Its extraordinary will enable him to return and reach the semi-finals of Roland Garros in 1990. Excel basic player of short, it enormously gains tournaments over beaten Ground. In 1995, after a series of 40 consecutive victories over ocher surface, one calls it Muster-minator . It obtains the dedication by gaining Roland Garros and will be n° 1 world a few weeks in 1996.
But its detractors reproach him for obtaining its results only on beaten Ground. Wishing to prove that it can also shine on fast surface, it arrives again in ½ final of the Open of Australia in 1997. A few weeks later, it is essential on Key Biscayne. Then its results do not drop, it does not shine any more but by jolts. It takes its retirement in 1999, after Roland Garros.
