The family of the Philydracées is a family of plants Monocotylédone S. According to Watson & Dallwitz it includes/understands 6 Espèce S divided into 3 to 4 kind S:

• Helmholtzia , Philydrum , Philydrella

They are herbaceous, perennial, rhizomateuses plants or with thickened roots, with rivet washers, subtropics with tropical. (Malaysia, Southeast Asia, Australia).

The phylogenetic classification place today this family in the order of the Commelinales .
