Thomas Lobb

Thomas Lobb is a British Botaniste , born in 1811 and died in 1894.

With his brother William Lobb (1809-1863), it collects plants for the company of Veitch horticulture. He works in India, Indonesia and with the Filipino . In 1845, it discovers the first of orchises Phalaenopsis , pushing in the east of the the Himalayas at an altitude of 1.500 Mr. This species was dedicated to him, Phalaenopsis lobbii .
