Thomas Jean Chassereaux

Thomas Jean Chassereaux , born with Bath of Brittany, the November 7th 1763, general French.

It entered to the service the October 23rd 1791, in the 1st battalion of the Finistere, in the capacity as captain; it passed to the Armée with North in 1792, then with that of the the Rhine, major was created the 25 vendémiaire year VIII, returned to the Armée with the West in 1801, was put after with his rank and balances activity and passed the September 29th in the 50e regiment of line.

Major of the 32e the December 22nd 1803, decorated the April 15th 1804, it made the campaigns of Prussia and of Poland, was made colonel of the 40e of line the May 16th 1806, fought with the Bataille of Iéna where it was wounded and created baron after the Paix of Tilsitt.

It was again wounded with the Bataille of Ocafia in 1809, and was named in December following commander of the Légion of honor; its control during all the Campagne of Andalusia (1810) was worth to him the Brigadier general patent of .

In 1814, Napoleon i had entrusted to the Chassereaux general the command troops which were with Orleans; Louis XVIII preserved it in this station and created it Chevalier of Saint-Louis. During the Hundred Days, it organized in ten days ten battalions which were directed on Besancon, and was put at the head of a brigade belonging to the camp placed between Saint-Denis and the Villette.

After the dismissal of the army, the general baron de Chasseraux withdrew himself in his hearths, and was put at the retirement on January 1st 1816.
