Thomas II Stanley de Man

Thomas Stanley (1435 - July 29th 1504), noble English, 1st Count de Derby, was born from Thomas Stanley, 1st baron Stanley and of Joan Goushill, girl of Sir Robert Goushill and Elizabeth FitzAlan, girl of Richard FitzAlan, 11th Count d' Arundel. After the death of his/her father in 1430, Stanley inherited its titles, of which that of king of the island of Man and baron Stanley. Stanley was an advised man who managed to preserve the confidence of the kings who succédrèrent themselves during the Guerre of the Two-Pinks, until his death in 1504. Its marriage with Eleanor, sister of Richard Neville, count de Warwick, did not cause him a wrong, even after Warwick was évincé capacity. Stanley then married Margaret Beaufort, whose son, Henry Tudor, was the first English sovereign of the dynasty of Tudor.

Richard III of England was badly inspired to continue to give its confidence to Thomas Stanley and his brother, William, even after having made imprison Thomas some time in 1483, suspecting it of conspiracy. With the Battle of Bosworth, the Stanley brothers betrayed it, joining themselves the Lancaster at the crucial moment. It is claimed that it is Thomas who removed the crown of the head of Richard and deposited it on that of his/her own son-in-law, Henry. In reward, he was high count of Derby the October 27th 1485. His/her William brother did not know such a glorious fate. In 1495, it made the error to support the applicant with the throne Perkin Warbeck, and was carried out for treason.
