Thomas Guarantees LT (before 1702 - December 21st 1754), 1st Gage Viscount, was member Parlement of Great Britain of 1721 with 1754 and Gouverneur of the Barbados of 1738 with 1739.

Filiation

He was the son of Joseph Gage Sherborne Castle and of Elizabeth Penruddock. He married Benedicta Maria Theresa Hall (girl of Henry Benedict Hall and Frances Fortescue) in 1717.

Their children were William Hall Guarantees, 2nd Gage Viscount (born in 1718), Theresa, and Thomas Gage which will become commander-in-chief of the British forces in North America of 1763 with 1775, at the time of the first years of the Guerre of independence of the United States of America.

April 23rd 1744 his/her cousin, to sir William Guarantees, 7th baronnet died without descent and Gage inherited the family manor of Firle Place.

Honors

September 14th 1720, the king George I {{er}} did it baron Gage Castlebar in the Comté of Mayo, then Gage Viscount Castle Island in the Comté of Kerry in the Royaume of Ireland.
