Thomas Enders
Thomas Enders , born the December 21st 1958, is president of the group Airbus, subsidiary of EADS.
Course
From 1978 to 1983, he studies sciences of managements, political sciences and the history at the university of Bonn and the University of California with Los Angeles (UCLA). He supports a thesis of doctorate in 1987.
Reserve officer in the Bundeswehr, it occupies various posts to advise or of officer of state major, then of 1982 to 1985, he is parliamentary assistant with the Bundestag then worked until 1990 in various research institutes (Foundation Konrad Adenauer with Sankt Augustin (Holy Augustin); International Institute for Strategic Studies with London; German company for the Foreign Politics ( Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik ) with Bonn). Member of the CDU, it is close to Friedrich Merz; he was one of the collaborators of the German Minister for defense Gerhard Stoltenberg.
He joined DASA in 1991, where he occupies various functions at the department marketing or after the head office, until becoming responsible for division Defense & Security Systems and member of the Executive committee of EADS (company resulting from fusion between DASA, Aerospace-Matra and Casa). He directed the branch armaments of EADS.
From June 2005 in August 2007, it is one of both Executive Copresident of the European aeronautical manufacturer EADS, with Noel Forgeard.
Since August 2007, he is president of the group Airbus, subsidiary of EADS.
Associations
Thomas Enders also chairs the German Association of Aerospace Industry (BDLI) and “Atlantik Brücke e.V. ”, an association aiming at promoting the dialog between the United States and Germany.
Business EADS
May 15th, 2007, in a maintenance granted to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Thomas Enders has, in his capacity as copresident of EADS, recognized that the French government had intervened with the administrators of EADS in order to obtain the payment of the 8,5 million euros corresponding to the " Golden delicious parachute " of Noel Forgeard, old directing company.
