Thomas Christopher Hakes

Mgr Thomas Christopher Collins was born in 1947 with Guelph (Ontario - Canada).

In 1973, it is ordered priest, for the Diocèse of Hamilton.

He is laid off in Scriptures of the biblical pontifical Institut of Rome and doctor in Théologie of the Gregorian Université of Rome.

1978: he teaches the Scriptures and dogmatic theology with the Holy Seminar Peter' S.

Of 1992 at 1995, he is senior of the Faculty of theology and vice-rector of the Seminar.

1995: he becomes vice-chancellor of the Seminar.

March 1997: appointed bishop coadjutor of the Diocese of Saint-Paul in Alberta, where as of the month of June 1997 it succeeds of right to Mgr Raymond Roy

February 1999: named Archbishop coadjutor of the Archdiocese of Edmonton, then he becomes the archbishop about it titrates some with the advertisement of the retirement of Mgr Joseph McNeil.

He was named by Benoît XVI, Saturday December 16th 2006, archbishop of Toronto where he succeeds the cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic, which takes its retirement at soon 77 years.
