Thomas Cavendish

Thomas Cavendish the navigator born in 1555 in Trimley St Martin close to Ipswich, Suffolk, England died in 1592 with Rise, was an English sailor.
He was the son of Roger Cavendish, brother of Sir John Cavendish whose the dukes of Devonshire and the dukes of Newcastle derive their family name from Cavendish.
Thomas shared with Sir Richard Grenville forwarding in Virginia in 1585. Its round the world tour shortly after that of Sir Francis Drake was worth to him the nickname of navigator .
In 1586 it sailed with three ships for the Pacific where it burned three cities and thirteen vessels Spanish S. It seizes the Santa Anna with broad of Acapulco, and embarked on its board Christopher and Cosmas, two Japanese sailors belonging to the Spanish crew. It returned to England by the Cape of Good Hope with only one of its ships, the Desire , in 1588, which made it raise with the row of knight by the queen Elisabeth Ire of England.
The one second forwarding in 1591 turned in great disaster.
