Thomas Calderwood Stephenson is a American ornithologist , born in 1876 and dead the November 24th 1948 with Sioux City (Iowa).
Graduate in Medicine, it prefers to devote himself to the Biologie and accepts a pulpit of Biologie in Morningside College of City Sioux. He will occupy this station during 40 years until in 1946. He makes, during sixteen years, of the training courses of summer when he initiates his students with the observation of the birds in their natural environment.
From 1914 to 1916, he is president of the Wilson Ornithological Club and made party of others learned societies like the Iowa Academy off Sciences and the American Ornithologists' Union, like several other organization ornithological. In 1925, Stephenson replaces Lynds Jones (1865-1951) with the head of the ornithological review, the Wilson Bulletin , function which it will occupy until 1938.
Stephenson makes appear approximately 75 publications on the birds of which An Annotated Bibliography off South Dakota Ornithology (1945).
