Thomas Binder Benton (painter)

Thomas Binder Benton , or Tom Benton (April 15th, 1889 - January 19th 1975) was a known American painter for his fluid style and its fabrics representatives of the scenes of the daily life of the Midwest. Benton was born with Neosho (Missouri) from a father lawyer and representative from the American Congrès. In its youth, he worked as draftsman for the newspaper of Joplin (Missouri) Joplin American . In 1907, it enters to the Art Institute off Chicago then share for Paris in 1909 in order to perfect its artistic formation with the Académie Julian. In Paris, Benton meets other North-American artists such as Diego Rivera and Stanton Macdonald-Wright. It returns to New York in 1913 and continues to paint. In 1935, it leaves to teach with the Kansas City Art Institute with Kansas City (Missouri). There, it paints rural and agricultural scenes.
