Thomas-Jean Pichon , born with the Mans in 1731 and died in 1812, is a man of the church and French man of letters, Doctor of Divinity and canon of the Ste Chapelle of Mans.
In its Physical of the history , he studies the relationship of the climates with passions, manners, the aptitudes of the people. Which is the cause of the diversity of the color of the skin of the men? love relative with the climate? The final chapter is devoted to the general influence of the laws on the temperament and the inclinations of the men in all the climates. One finds a chapter on the color of the skin of the men and a refutation of the assumption of Maupertuis in his physical Venus .
Its Mémoire on the abuses the Célibat is a demographic text in which it supports the political duty of the Procréation, because the population is necessary to the State. He proposes to create a tax, which he calls men “tribute of tolérence”, on the single people, as well as women, divided into six classes according to their fortune.
