Thoirette is a common French, located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.
Its inhabitants is called Thoiretiens.
Geography
History
The common car its name of the castle of Thoire which is the cradle of the family of Thoire. This house of Bugey can be put at the row of the sovereign houses. She is allied with that of Beaujeu, Savoy, Burgundy, Roussillon, of the Beams, of Poitiers, of Geneva etcIn 1196 Etienne Ier de Thoire (about 1178 - 1235) wife Agnes de Villars. To the grounds of Bugey, inter alia Cerdon, Montreal, Arbent, Matafelon, Beauregard, Belvoir of Thoire are added most of the Bresse with the grounds dombists of Villars which included/understood the seigniories of Villars, Châtelard, of Ambérieux-in-Dombes and of Trévoux.
