With the doors of the Pole, the borough of Thiron-Kept was born from the establishment of an abbey founded by Bernard de Ponthieu (birthplace in the Somme). Old the Abbaye of the Holy Trinity de Tiron exerted its influence in all the northern half of France and to the High-Grounds of Scotland. Indeed, at the 12th century, whereas the abbey of Thiron is in construction since 1114, the Order of Tiron exerts its authority on twenty-two abbeys and more than one hundred of priories. The Order of Tiron followed the strict observance of the rules of Saint Benoit, of the so famous monks Benedictines, who they were one day the protagonists of the French tale in verse of the “Romance of Renart”.

Admittedly, today the Order of Tiron fell into the lapse of memory and it remains for witness, only the long Romance nave of the abbey church, the barn with said, the military college or the dependences. But its history is everywhere and the gardens of the Park of the Abbey are marked presence of the Order. Through the kitchen garden of simple, aromatics, the alley of the limes, with the corner of the fish pond or on the terrace of the fruit-lofts, you will be filled with wonder by the landscape and its evolution. Charmed by the monastic silence which reigns, you will be astonished by abundance by flavors, forms and colors. With each step, it is the history of an abbey which reappears of its own ground.

Nested in the middle of the timbered hills, with its ponds and its architecture in backdrop, the life is dynamic and harmonious there. Enter the Regional natural park of the Pole to the meeting of the landscapes, the Percherons and a soil… Thiron-kept, it is the intimate Pole, a ground of legend reveals itself.
