Third line wing (Rugby with XV)
With the Rugby with XV, the third line wing (6 and 7) (in English: 6. Blindside flanker & 7. Openside flanker ) is one of the fifteen usual stations. Generally number 6 operates closed side rather and is more powerful than its counterpart open side which more has a profile of runner to immediately support the three-quarters in the offensive phases like defensives. Nevertheless this is not an absolute rule and much of players are at the same time powerful and mobile.
In defensive phase, the objective of these players is to stick more to the balloon to intervene as fast as possible on the carrier of the balloon. Excellent platers, their interventions are dreaded. Thus certain players can have to seek to immediately plate the half of opening to kill the attack as of its launching. Their allied qualities of plating to their mobilities and their powers are extremely useful on the open phases of play. In addition players became specialists to recover the balloon quickly shortly after the plating like Josh Kronfeld or Serge Betsen. Offensively, they can give their support for the three-quarters quickly and possibly cause a-against-a vis-a-vis weaker players physically in order to passing the line of advantage. In a general way, they are general-purpose players brought to intervene on almost all the phases of play and thus particularly enduring.
