The third Sunday of the Advent , or Sunday of Gaudete , is between one and two weeks before Christmas in the catholic liturgical Calendrier.

Sunday of Gaudete

Third Sunday of the Advent is also called Sunday of Gaudete . Indeed, in the Roman Missal , the Introït of the mass of this Sunday starts with the following Latin sentence: ( You always in the Lord delight; I repeat it, delight you! ). This sentence points out the joy of the Church in waiting of the advent of the Christ.

This is why the vestments, purple during all the time of the Advent, can exceptionally be pink this day.
