Third Lanark Athletic Club is a club of Scottish Football of Glasgow which existed of 1872 with 1967. One of the largest clubs at the beginning of Scottish football, Third Lanark was the first Scottish club of high-level to being declared in bankruptcy and liquidated.
Third Lanark was created as a football team of the Third Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers . Known under the name of 3rd LRV , the club became the Third Lanark A.C. when it ceased being the team of the regiment. The club made party of the founders of the Scottish Football League. It gained the championship of Scotland in 1904, the cut of Scotland in 1889 and 1905 and the Glasgow Cup in 1903, 1904, 1909 and 1963.
The club was declared in Banqueroute and was liquidated in 1967.
